What does fasting target completion mean?

Calculate target completion from recorded sessions, see why the percentage changes and distinguish app goals from medical or nutritional outcomes.

Target completion answers a narrow question: how many recorded finished sessions reached their stored target? It does not measure nutritional quality, health improvement or whether a fasting routine was appropriate.

Calculate a simple example

Suppose four completed sessions lasted 12, 14, 15 and 16 hours. Each had a 14-hour target. Three reached or exceeded the target, so completion is three divided by four, or 75%.

If the first session’s intended target was actually 12 hours, all four met their own targets. Completion would be 100% without changing any actual duration.

This is why the target is part of the meaning of the number.

Compare the same reporting period

A seven-day view and an all-time view contain different entries. Adding a manual session, correcting a date or changing the filter can alter both the number of completed sessions and the number that met target.

Reset calculates the result from the history. It does not preserve an old percentage independently of the entries beneath it.

Understand what an early finish means

A session that ends before target still records the actual interval. It contributes to the history even though it does not qualify as meeting that target.

Do not remove accurate shorter sessions just to increase the percentage. That would make the dashboard less representative of what happened. See ending before target.

Use completion for a practical question

A useful interpretation might be: “This target often conflicts with my morning meal.” It is not: “A higher number proves better health.”

If your week mixes targets, read comparing different fasting targets before drawing conclusions. If a percentage changes unexpectedly, check filters, dates and recently edited entries first.

Choose the intended target carefully when starting a session or adding a manual entry. Reset 1.1.0 preserves that target when you edit an existing session’s times. Keep the actual duration honest rather than changing times to manufacture a preferred score.
