Deleting fasting app data: local storage and backups

Understand what clearing storage or uninstalling removes, how it differs from clearing cache, and why Android backup needs a separate check.

Deleting a local record and deleting every possible backup are different tasks. Reset keeps its working history on your phone. Android may hold a platform backup depending on your settings.

Before removing anything, decide whether you want a fresh local app, to stop using the app, or to remove backup copies too.

Understand the local controls

Android’s Clear storage control removes the app’s local data. Uninstalling also removes the local app data. Clear cache is a different control and should not be treated as a reliable way to erase the session history.

Menu labels vary by device. Check the description shown by Android before confirming a destructive action. Clearing storage can remove preferences and completed records as well as the active session.

Do not use deletion as a first troubleshooting step

If an alert arrives late or a chart looks wrong, investigate settings and individual entries first. Erasing the whole history is disproportionate to a notification problem.

Use the reminder checklist or history date guide before considering a reset.

Review backup separately

Removing the working copy does not prove that an Android backup has been deleted. Consult your device’s platform backup controls and Google’s backup documentation for the account and device involved.

Reset cannot inspect or delete that platform backup on your behalf. There is no Reset cloud account to close and no developer server copy of your history to retrieve.

Keep what you need first

If you want to retain a personal reference, record it before clearing storage. Reset 1.1.0 does not include a dedicated export feature. A screenshot can preserve visible information, but it is not a restorable app backup.

If you are changing phones rather than intentionally discarding history, follow the transfer checklist and verify the new device before clearing the old one.
