Moving your fasting history to a new Android phone

Follow a careful checklist for checking Android restore, distinguishing purchase access from session data and preserving the original phone until verified.

Before replacing your Android phone, distinguish reinstalling Reset from transferring its history. Google Play handles access to the purchased app. Android’s transfer or backup system may handle app data. Reset has no account-based sync of its own.

Before changing phones

Open Reset on the old phone and check that the history you expect is present. Make a small reference note of the date of the newest entry and a few older sessions.

Review the phone’s backup and device-transfer options using Google’s guidance. Do not erase the old phone merely because the replacement has downloaded the app.

Reset 1.1.0 does not provide a dedicated CSV export or import workflow. This checklist should not be read as instructions for a feature that is not there.

After installing on the replacement

Open Reset and inspect the actual records. A familiar app icon and an available purchase are not enough. Compare recent entries, older entries and relevant settings against the old device.

If you have changed time zones, displayed local times may differ. Check that apparent differences are not simply time-zone presentation before editing anything.

If the history is missing

Keep the old phone intact. Check whether the platform transfer included app data and whether the appropriate Google account and restore process were used.

We cannot look up your fasting sessions on a developer server. If the platform cannot restore them, known completed sessions can be entered manually, but do not fabricate missing dates or times.

Only clear the old device after checking

Once you have confirmed what transferred and kept any personal record you need, follow the device manufacturer’s reset process for the old phone. This article does not perform that reset or guarantee transfer compatibility.

For details of the three different storage layers, see Android backup and fasting history. If you need automatic multi-device access as a permanent feature, Reset’s local-record design may not meet that requirement.
