A custom target lets you record an intended duration that is not one of Reset’s named presets. It changes the timing goal; it does not create a personalised health plan.
These instructions describe the controls and validation in Reset 1.1.0.
Choose a duration deliberately
Use the custom slider in the plan picker and review the duration before starting. The visible control runs from four to 48 hours in half-hour steps. This software range is not a declaration that every duration is safe or appropriate.
Long fasts require particular caution and clinical assessment. Do not select a duration simply because the control permits it. See the safety context.
Separate the target from the clock
Suppose your chosen target is 13 hours and the actual start is 8 pm. The intended endpoint is 9 am the next day on an ordinary day. If the interval actually ends at 8:30 am, the record is 12 hours and 30 minutes.
Keep both facts: the intended target and the actual result. Changing one should not silently rewrite the other.
Correct mistaken input
Choose the intended target before starting a session. Reset 1.1.0’s time editor changes an existing session’s times while preserving its stored target. Selecting a different plan changes the preference for a future session; it does not rewrite an active or completed session’s target.
When adding a new manual entry, check its plan before saving. If an existing entry has an incorrectly selected target, keep that limitation in mind when reading completion statistics and contact support if you need help. Do not falsify the actual times to make them fit the target.
The web calculator has a narrower purpose
The website calculator previews daily schedules. Its supported calculations assume a regular 24-hour cycle and do not model multi-day fasts, travel or daylight-saving transitions.
A custom duration in the Android app and a web schedule preview are separate tools. For the underlying arithmetic, see calculating a fasting window. For completed sessions, use manual logging so actual times remain the source of the record.
